Rooftop Restaurants: The Cube by Electrolux Moves to Milan

The Cube

January 18, 2012 By: Mary Winston Nicklin

Visitors to Brussels last year were treated to an awesome sight: a pop-up restaurant housed inside a glass cube perched atop the Arc de Triomphe in the Parc du Cinquantenaire. The Cube by Electrolux served up heart-stopping views along with delicious cuisine. Now The Cube has moved to Milan for a four-month stint before it makes a splash in other European cities (Stockholm and London).

For its second location, Electrolux enlisted architect Michele Rossi to create a “transparent and semi-transparent structure” made of glass and aluminum to resemble a “big lamp” on the Piazza del Duomo in the very heart of Milan. Up to 18 diners at a time can enjoy top-notch cuisine prepared by some of the finest chefs in Italy- all prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Open daily for lunch (€200) and dinner (€275) until April 26, 2012. For more information, see the website: www.electrolux.co.uk/Cube/Milan
